Laser tattoo removal for Summerlin residents

Original You Advanced Laser serves Summerlin from 7477 W Lake Mead Blvd, Suite 106 in northwest Las Vegas — about 10–15 minutes away, with free parking at the door. Sessions are $150–$425+ depending on tattoo size, packages save 10–20%, and consultations are free. Treatments use the dual-wavelength Cutera Enlighten III (the first in Nevada) with 750ps and 2ns pulses at 1064nm, 670nm and 532nm plus DeScribe PFD patches, and every laser treatment is performed by a PA, NP or MD with Dr. Brian Citro, MD, FACS on site. Most tattoos clear in about seven sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart, and a 10-treatment guarantee applies.

Why Summerlin patients come to us

Summerlin is our single largest patient community. Many arrive after a consultation somewhere along the Summerlin Parkway corridor where the price was lower and the laser was older — a nanosecond-only Q-switched device run by a technician. The difference shows up in session counts, and the sessions are what actually cost money.

Summerlin patients tend to plan around the sun: golf, Red Rock trails, pool season. That matters for tattoo removal, because treated skin needs to stay covered and out of direct sun between sessions. We schedule around it rather than pretending it does not exist — and if you have an event, we build the plan backward from the date.

What treatment looks like

  1. Free consultation Skin type, medical history, ink colors, depth and layering. You leave with a written estimate — sessions, spacing and total cost — not a vague range.
  2. Comfort first Contact cooling on every pass, with local anesthetic available. Most patients describe each pulse as a hot snap; sessions for small tattoos take minutes.
  3. Multi-pass with the PFD patch The DeScribe patch clears the skin’s whitening response so we can safely deliver two to three passes in one visit, which can reduce your total number of sessions.
  4. Photographs every visit We document and adjust settings based on how your skin and ink actually responded.
  5. 6–8 weeks between sessions Your immune system does the clearing between visits. Rushing it does not speed it up.
Our guarantee

The 10-treatment guarantee

We stand behind our technology and our clinicians. If your tattoo needs more than 10 treatments, we keep treating that area at no charge for a full year after your 10th session. Our average is about 7 sessions, and most patients are satisfied in 5–7.

Summerlin tattoo removal FAQ

Is Original You closer than driving to the Strip or Henderson?

For nearly every Summerlin address, yes. We are at Buffalo and Lake Mead in the northwest valley, roughly 10–15 minutes from most of Summerlin, with free surface parking directly outside the suite. Strip-area and Henderson clinics typically add 20–35 minutes each way plus parking — and tattoo removal is a series of visits, not one.

I was quoted less at a Summerlin med spa. Why?

Usually because the pricing is per-pulse or per-visit on an older nanosecond-only laser and the treatment is performed by a technician. Cheaper per visit is not cheaper per result: a dual-pulse picosecond and nanosecond platform with PFD patch passes typically clears in fewer sessions. Compare total projected cost, not the sticker on session one — and ask who is holding the handpiece.

How does laser tattoo removal actually work?

Tattoo ink sits in the dermis in particles too large for your immune system to carry away. A picosecond laser fires pulses lasting trillionths of a second, which shatter those particles photo-mechanically rather than by cooking the tissue. The fragments are then cleared through the lymphatic system over the following weeks — which is why sessions are spaced 6–8 weeks apart rather than back to back.

What makes the Enlighten III different from a Q-switched laser?

Three things: multiple wavelengths (1064nm, 670nm, 532nm) so one platform can address black, blue, red, green and yellow ink; dual pulse durations (750 picoseconds and 2 nanoseconds) for precision with less collateral heat; and spot sizes from 2mm to 8mm so large tattoos take roughly the same time as small ones. Original You was the first practice in Nevada to offer the Enlighten III.

What is the DeScribe PFD patch and why does it matter?

The DeScribe PFD patch is an FDA-cleared, dual-layer silicone patch infused with perfluorodecalin. Placed over the tattoo during treatment, it reduces laser light scattering, draws heat away from the skin and lets us perform several laser passes in a single visit with no waiting between passes. The practical result is fewer total sessions and better comfort, without adding meaningful time to the appointment.

Which ink colors are hardest to remove?

Black, dark blue and red respond well. Green, light blue, yellow and white are historically the most stubborn, though pico technology has expanded what is achievable with them. White ink and some cosmetic pigments can darken or shift color when treated, so we perform a test spot whenever there is any uncertainty before treating the full tattoo.

What should I expect during and after each session?

The tattoo frosts white immediately after the pass and returns to its normal color within about 24 hours, then begins to fade. Expect the equivalent of a sunburn, with possible swelling, pinpoint bleeding or blistering. Most people go back to normal activity the same day. Keep the area clean and covered per our written aftercare, avoid sun and soaking, and let scabs fall off on their own.

Can you fade a tattoo for a cover-up instead of removing it?

Yes, and it is one of our most common requests. Cover-up fading only needs to lighten the existing ink enough for your artist to place new work cleanly, so it typically takes 1–4 sessions instead of a full removal course. Bring your artist’s design or their notes to the consultation and we will plan the fade around what they need.
